WHRO and VSO Represented at Pre-concert Dinner

Members of the Virginia Symphony Society of Williamsburg were delighted to have representatives of both WHRO and the VSO join them at a pre-concert dinner prior to the Virginia Symphony's October 27 performance at Crosswalk Community Church. Raymond Jones, WHRO's longtime classical music radio host, spoke briefly about his career with WHRO, his long-time relationship with the Symphony, including how he has, on occasion, narrated performances for the symphony. He was followed by VSO trumpeter Adam Gandolfo who performed classical selections by two American composers, Joseph Turrin and Alan Hovboness, and one by French composer Eugene Bozza, plus George Gershwin's popular "Someone to Watch Over Me" from the show "Oh Kay". Mr. Gandolfo was accompanied on piano by Christine Niehaus.
