Willaimsburg Christian Academy adds Addison Snyder as New Academic and College Counselor

Williamsburg, Va., May 25th, 2017-Williamsburg Christian Academy has added Addison Snyder to its staff as Academic, College and Career Counselor. Mrs. Snyder will join the staff officially in July 2017
Addison comes to WCA from Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas, where she filled a similar role for the past four years, although handling a caseload of over 700 students. In addition, Addison is Lovejoy's Advanced Placement Testing Coordinator, SAT Site Supervisor, and Senior Project Coordinator. She has prior experience as a high school social/emotional counselor in Fairfax, Virginia and has coached cheerleading at the collegiate level. A graduate of the College of William & Mary with a degree in Psychology, Addison earned her Master's degree in Educational School Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania. She holds Counseling Licenses in both the States of Virginia and Texas.

"We are so thankful to God for sending us someone with so much experience in the counseling realm, as well as extensive experience with AP testing, SAT hosting and the coordination and operation of college fairs," stated Williamsburg Christian Academy Head of School, Dr. David Breslin. "We are excited to see her use her gifts and talents to bless the students and families of WCA!"

Addison and her husband CJ currently reside in Frisco, Texas, with their two daughters Ezra and Wren, 2 years and 1 year old respectively. They also spend time wrangling their two crazy wheaten terriers, Griffin and Sadie. The Snyders currently attend The Village Church and frequently serve in their Recovery ministry. In her spare time, she enjoys boot camp style fitness programs, and as an ex-gymnast, follows women's collegiate and professional gymnastics.

Snyder identified three early goals upon arrival at WCA as forming relationships, getting to know
the student body and making them each feel uniquely valued, and helping students identify their
gifts. As the college counselor, Addison is excited to help Upper School students explore post-secondary options that will lend themselves to their individual goals and strengths.

"God clearly paved the way for my family and I to put down roots in Williamsburg," stated Snyder,
"We are here for the long haul. I know God has us on the brink of something important to His
kingdom and I cannot wait to see how that plays out at WCA!"

Williamsburg Christian Academy's mission is to provide college preparatory instruction in a culture of grace through personalized learning in academics, arts, and athletics while building relationships that inspire students to serve their community and become Christ-centered leaders.
