Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center Welcomes Alison Pariso
Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center (formerly This Century Art Gallery) is pleased to announce its newest staff member, Alison Pariso. Alison relocated from Hoboken, New Jersey earlier this week with her husband, Frank to begin her new position as office manager on July 15, 2015. Tempy Barbru, executive director, commented "Alison brings an array of impressive experience in the fine arts." Alison has been living and working in the northeast and in New England for the past 6 years with her most recent position being the gallery director of a co-operative gallery in Hoboken. She is a graduate of The Massachusetts College of Art in Boston with a BFA in Printmaking, has worked in several NYC galleries in various capacities, and continues to pursue her own artistic endeavors as well.
Through these experiences, Alison's strong interest in promoting artistic opportunities for the community around her has flourished. What drew Alison to the Williamsburg area, and particularly WCAC, is the emphasis on community involvement in the development of the arts district. She is looking forward to being a part of the thriving arts culture in Williamsburg because she believes that art is an integral part of a happy life.
Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center is the only non-profit gallery in the region. Its mission, to enrich and educate the community through contemporary art, is supported by exhibitions that showcase a wide variety of contemporary paintings, sculpture, and artisan's work by outstanding regional and national artists. The Art Education Center teaches multiple classes for children and adults per semester and incorporates art camps for children through its Summer Art Camps for Kids (SACK).
