In spite of the pending snow storm of January 23, 2016, the Williamsburg Host Lions Club 2016 Brunswick Stew reached records sales. The project which was to begin on January 21st was moved up a day in order to accommodate the pending storm. All members of the club were notified of this change in the making of the stew and everyone changed their scheduled to accommodate this change. The stew was to go be completed NLT Saturday, 23 Jan, the day of the storm. The record stew was prepared by Lion Chef's Steve Anderson and Bill Mershon. The stew was delivered on time and in fact over 100 quarts were picked up by a number of Williamsburg Residents in spite of the storm, and another 700 were delivered by members of the Club to those who preordered.
