Williamsburg House of Mercy serves more than 3000 meals to the homeless last month

The Williamsburg House of Mercy homeless care initiatives have grown to the point of serving 3064 meals in the month of November. Parishioners of Saint Bede Catholic Church, community members, and member faith groups of the Greater Williamsburg Outreach Mission (GWOM) joined forces to make sure that the growing Harbor Day Shelter for the homeless provides healthy and nutritious cooked breakfasts and lunches to 52 homeless individuals. With cold temperatures setting in, the Williamsburg House of Mercy opens its doors to become a refuge to the local poor in search of a meal, a hot shower, and support in stabilizing their lives by day and hosting a week of the local winter shelter, which servers dinner and breakfast, by night.
