The Williamsburg Music Club meeting on January 17 will feature Dr. Michael Williamson in an illustrated program on "The Genius of Jazz and the Geniuses who made it so." Dr. Williamson is the retired director of bands at the College of William & Mary and has taught courses in conducting and Jazz Composition and Arranging. Dr. Williamson's presentation will explore the history of jazz and the artists considered geniuses and their impact on the development of jazz. The Music Club meets at Bruton Parish Lewis Hall on Duke of Gloucester St. in Williamsburg. Coffee, cakes and conversation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a brief business meeting at 10:30 and the program at 11:00. All Music Club programs are free and open to the public.
