Williamsburg Rotary Club briefed on Living Museum's 50th Anniversary

The Williamsburg Rotary Club welcomed Page Hayhurst, Executive Director of the Virginia Living Museum, as guest speaker. She noted that this is the 50th Anniversary.of the Museum, which was founded by the Warwick Rotary Club and the Junior League of Hampton Roads in 1966 to connect people to nature through educational experiences. Today the Museum has welcomed more than 8 million visitors and has taken a leadership role to educate them about ways to conserve valuable natural resources. The VLM has introduced visitors to 250 species native to Virginia. It has an extensive natural history collection, a planetarium, and observatory. President-Elect Carol Beers (left) presented Page with a certificate stating the donation in her honor of a children's book to the Williamsburg Regional Library.
