WISC Gymnastics Achievments

As we are in the middle of the 2016-2017 of the gymnastics competitive season at WISC Team Gymnastics we would like to say congratulations to all of our athletes this far and best of luck to upcoming State and Regional Meets in the spring of 2017. A Big "Thank you!" to all of their family and friends who give us support and help our athlete to push themselves to reach so many goals.

Recently forty-five girls representing WISC Artistic Gymnastics Teams traveled to Orlando, FL where they competed in the Annual Sand Dollar/Whitlow Invitational, held January 20-22, 2017. The Sand Dollar/Whitlow Invitational is a first-class women's and men's competitive gymnastics competition which is held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex annually. The WISC athlete competed among 3000 athletes from around USA, Jamaica, Chez Republic etc. in Xcel Bronze, Silver and Platinum divisions as well as Junior Olympic Compulsory levels 3-5, and Optional Levels.
We are so proud of them. WISC Level 3 Team came back with a glass trophy from the their performance; many girls received medals and placed in all four competitive events - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor.
Our own Level 7 gymnast, coming out of an injury Zoe Wallace, placed 1st on Vault with the score of 9.80 and received ranked in Gymnasts on 2017 America's Top 100.

The WISC Trampoline and Tumbling Team had a successful season this far as well. In November of 2016 WISC Gymnastics hosted first Sectional event with competition in Trampoline and Power tumbling. On January 15, 2017 our T&T Team traveled to Maryland and competed at Winter Tumblefest hosted by Preston Gymnastics, bringing home medals in all three disciplines of Trampoline, Double Mini and Power tumbling. We are very proud of all of them as WISC do not owe the double mini equipment yet, but our athlete managed to prepare themselves and competed strong. The team would not have made their goals without their encouraging and dedicated coach Diana McCummings.

We all are looking forward to the rest of the season.
WISC Gymnastics Parents' Association (WGPA) with the support of the WISC will be bringing to Williamsburg and host at the WISC the VA Xcel Bronze State meet, May 6-7, expecting more than 600 competitors, ages 5-18. And The Region 6 Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) Championship, May 12-14, 2017is expected to bring to the area over 800 competitors and their families from VA, DE, PA, WV, NJ, and MD.
