Woman's Club and local restaurants support the Crayon Initiative

The Woman's Club of Williamsburg-GFWC is proud to support the Crayon Initiative with generous assistance from our local restaurants.

The Crayon Initiative collects broken and unwanted crayons from restaurants, schools, and other organizations, diverting them from landfills where they would otherwise not break down and would clog our earth for centuries. Instead, the Crayon Initiative remanufactures these crayons to use them in hospital programs for critically ill children throughout the United States.

The Woman's Club heartily thanks Food for Thought as the major contributor of crayons, and the other wonderful restaurants in town that donate their used crayons, including Carrabba's Italian Grill, Denny's, National Pancake House, Colonial Pancake House, La Tolteca #1 (2nd Street), Sal's (Capitol Landing Road), Jimmy's (Richmond Road), La Tolteca #2 (Richmond Road), and Buffalo Wild Wings, In addition, we thank South of the Border and the Smokey Griddle Pancake House for their generous monetary donations.

Please consider participating in this worthy conservation project. Support the cause by saving your worn crayons and contacting the Woman's Club Conservation Committee Chairman, Nancy Schusheim, (208-0133 or theschusheims@yahoo.com) or Committee member Mabel Marten (220-3165 or bmarten6@cox.net).
