The Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists congregation has welcomed a new minister. Rev. Dr. David A. Johnson was named as Interim Minister for two years, beginning August 1.
Rev. Johnson has served the past thirteen years as an Interim Minister for seven UU congregations in the East and Midwest, most recently in Kalamazoo MI. Prior to these appointments, he was the settled minister with a Kansas UU congregation for fifteen years.
Ministry is a second career for Rev. Johnson. His first was oceanography, holding advanced academic degrees in the earth sciences as well as divinity.
Rev. Johnson, as an experienced Interim Minister, will be guiding the congregation as they ready themselves for a new settled minister in 2017.
Rev. Johnson and his wife, Diann, are looking forward to meeting congregants and getting acquainted with their new Tidewater Virginia surroundings.
