Body Renewal is a low-impact exercise program that promotes strengthening the body for dealing with everyday life. This program is offered by the Senior Center of York on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. under the direction of Domenica Jernigan.
Wednesday, July 8, was a special day for the Body Renewal program: Senior Center patron Peggy Hadden celebrated her 96th birthday by participating in one of that day's sessions of the popular exercise program.
When asked what her secret is for such a long and productive life, Peggy, referring to her age, says, "I just don't think about it."
Peggy continues to drive herself to the Senior Center where she is an active participant in the Body Renewal program three times a week. Her driver's license will expire in 2017, at which time she might hang up her keys.
The Senior Center enjoys celebrating birthdays with its many patrons and each month holds a "Birthday Bash," for those celebrating a birthday and for those who wish to join in on the fun.
