It didn’t take long for Jon Stewart to resume television hosting duties following his “Daily Show” exit.

The comedian, sporting a scruffy white beard, hosted WWE’s SummerSlam on Sunday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

“You know, I’ve spent the past 16 years talking about politics,” he said in his opening remarks at the pay-per-view event in New York City. “It’s nice to be back in reality. Let me tell you the difference between politics and what you’re going to see tonight: The WWE performers you will see tonight, they respect their audience.”

Stewart welcomed the Undertaker, the Miz, the Bella Twins, the WWE Divas, Sheamus and Brock Lesnar during his appearance, in addition to getting physical with another John. Stewart interfered in a fight between Seth Rollins and John Cena, smashing a closed metal folding chair into John Cena’s gut in a sneak attack, thereby helping his former nemesis win the World Heavyweight and U.S. Championship belts and devastating the audience.

He also filmed backstage scenes with his son, Nate, and “Arrow” star Stephen Amell, who made his WWE debut on Sunday. Amell and WWE veteran Adrian Neville took on Stardust, who got into a fight with the actor a few weeks ago at WWE Raw, in a tag-teamed match.
