More than 167,000 pounds of ground beef products have been recalled for possible E. coli contamination, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture news release.

The products, produced by All American Meats Inc. on Oct. 16, 2015, were shipped to retail locations nationwide, the release states.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 20420” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service discovered the problem Oct. 30 when a positive result for E. coli O157:H7 testing was traced back to the company, according to the release.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, it states.

E. coli is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps 2–8 days (3–4 days, on average) after exposure, according to the USDA. Most people recover within a week, but some develop kidney failure. The condition can occur among persons of any age but is most common in children under 5 and older adults. It is marked by easy bruising, pallor, and decreased urine output. USDA officials urge anyone who experiences these symptoms to seek emergency medical care immediately.
