One of former Virginia governor Bob McDonnell’s sons was arrested in Virginia Beach and charged with DWI early Thursday morning, police said.
Robert Ryan McDonnell, 23, of the 5900 block of Leabrook Way in Glen Allen was also charged with refusal, Virginia Beach Police announced in a news release.
The incident happened about 3:25 a.m. in the 2500 block of Sandpiper Road, police said.
McDonnell is not in custody, police said.
Last year, his twin brother Sean was arrested on a public intoxication charge and fined $25, according to the Washington Post.
