Deputies are investigating after a York County resident’s car was painted with graffiti, according to York County Sheriff’s spokesman Dan Ivey.

A racially charged epithet was painted in white on the side of the person’s dark-colored car parked outside a house in the 20 block of Atlantis Lane, Ivey said. Air police first noticed the graffiti about 12:30 a.m. Nov. 29.

“We are surprised, shocked and appalled because this is something that rarely happens here! Sickening!” the Sheriff’s office posted on its Facebook page.
