No one was hurt in an accident involving multiple vehicles and boats on Interstate 64 West near the James City County/Newport News line on Tuesday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police.
One boat was in the median and the other vehicles were on the right shoulder, closing the right lane of the interstate, according to VDOT.
The right lane was closed causing a 4.5-mile backup until 3:30 p.m. when it was reopened. Traffic remains congested with VDOT reporting a 3-mile backup at 3:30 p.m.
