Hampton Police are looking for a motorist who fled on foot after slamming a BMW into the front of a Hampton house while trying to evade a traffic stop on Sunday night. The driver plowed into the front left corner of a home on #717 Downing Street, and this morning a building inspector classified the house as "condemned." Police spokeswoman Cpl. Allison Good said a female occupant of the house was not injured, and she is living with family members in the area until her home can be repaired.

York County's technical rescue team works with the Newport News fire department's team to shore and stabilize balconies outside 300 Picadilly Loop in York County to prevent additional damage to the building and so that they can remove the vehicle. The accident that involved a vehicle driving into the living room of this apartment complex was called in at 5:02 PM and there were no injuries reported by the driver, passenger or occupants of the residence.

Drivers traveling through Hampton can expect delays on I-64 Wednesday morning, according to Virginia Department of Transportation.

A vehicle accident has shut down the eastbound left lane near the Rip Road exit on mile marker 266.

Backup is about 4 miles.

Gloucester

An ambulance overturned Wednesday morning while traveling northbound Route 17 in Gloucester, said State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

The accident occurred just after 4:25 a.m., when the ambulance was on its way to pick up a patient near Waste Management Way.

The vehicle swerved off the road and overturned after a deer ran in front of the ambulance, Anaya said.

No injuries were reported and all lanes are open on the road.
