Woman charged with drug possession after almost hitting gas pump, police say

A James City County woman has been charged with possession of a controlled substance after nearly hitting vehicles and a gas pump on Oct. 20, according to Williamsburg Police.

Police responded to the 600 block of York Street around 3:30 p.m. after receiving a call about a blue Impala driving erratically in the area of Lafayette Street and Capitol Landing Road, Maj. Greg Riley said.

The caller said the vehicle had almost hit multiple vehicles and a gas pump as it was pulling into the Valero, Riley said.

Officers arrived at the Valero and found the vehicle with the driver, 38-year-old Kizzy Elizabeth Christian, inside. Riley said the officers determined Christian was not intoxicated while they were talking with her.

Officers asked for and received consent to search Christian's vehicle, Riley said, and during the search they found "a few prescription medicines that were not in labeled containers." They were seized for forensic identification.

On Nov. 14, a warrant was obtained for Christian, who was arrested and charging with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, Riley said.
