Archaeologists from Colonial Williamsburg are exploring the remains of an unexpectedly substantial Colonial-era building first uncovered underneath the south yard of the Wren Building in 2011. The dig began early summer 2014 and has uncovered a 30-by-20-foot masonry foundation as well as large numbers of artifacts. Some evidence may link the structure to the College of William and Mary’s brew house.
