Trump election fallout: Racial tension and incidents, raucous protests

The mounting tension of a racially fraught presidential race spilled out across the country in the days following the election of Republican Donald Trump with a spate of violent protests and ugly racial incidents. Throughout the campaign, Trump’s tweets, statements and rallies drew criticism from all corners. Following Tuesday’s results, that charged atmosphere seemed to play out in a range of incidents across the U.S.

School administrators in Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s hometown of Columbus, Ind., call for civility and respect after reports of Hispanic students being taunted. Felipe Martinez told The Indianapolis Star that his two sons were twice intimidated with chants of “build that wall,” including on Election Day.
