Corey Stewart's Reddit AMA went as you might expect

Republican candidate for governor Corey Stewart did an "Ask Me Anything" on Reddit Thursday, embracing name calling and the alt-right's nativist tone.

He also called Bill Clinton a rapist and dubbed Gov. Terry McAuliffe and GOP front runner Ed Gillespie "cuckservatives."

This is a combination of "cuckhold," a derisive term for a man whose wife cheats on him, and "conservative." Think of it as the newer and more oddly sexually tinged version of RINO - "Republican in Name Only."

Or, as conservative commentator Erick Erickson has put it in the past, "a slur against Christian voters coined by white supremacists." Republican Party of Virginia Chairman John Whitbeck put out a statement Friday calling the term racist and condeming its use "unequivocally and without exception."

The term is certainly used by white supremacists who apparently use it to imply someone is a traitor to their own race.

So let's dive in, right?

Reddit is a series of online message boards. At some point parts of the website became a haven for racism, nationalism, other isms and the so-called "alt-right," a loose term that usually marries one or more of those isms with conservative political philosophy. It's a wildly varied place, though, and what you get depends on the thread you pick within the site. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Perriello also did a Reddit AMA this week.

Stewart, chairman of Prince William County's Board of Supervisors, introduced himself to Reddit's "The_Donald" chat room by saying he's running against "former Bush guy, RNC chairman, and cuckservative, Ed Gillespie" and noting his record of deporting Prince William's illegal immigrants.

He was quickly embraced.

"Is Bill Clinton a rapist?" one person asked.

"Yes," Stewart replied.

The former president has been accused, and only accused, of rape. Stewart said that "he, and his wife, should be locked up."

Another commenter asked whether Stewart's deportation policies extend to all people in the country illegally, not just those who commit additional crimes.

"I support deporting all illegal aliens, beginning with those who have committed additional crimes while in the U.S.," Stewart responded. "Deport them all."

He was asked about globalism.

"BAD people," Stewart said. "They hate America. We have to defeat the globalists."

Stewart made his living, by the way, as an international trade attorney. It's mentioned near the bottom of his campaign biography. CNN noted this week that the detail was one of several the Stewart campaign removed from his Wikipedia page.

"Can you confirm that Terry McAuliffe is a cuck?" someone asked.

"CONFIRMED!" Stewart replied.

"Do you have the necessary industrial strength pumps to drain the swamp in VA?"

"Yes, and the big brass balls to pump it out," Stewart replied.

By the way, "the media is FAKE NEWS, it never stops lying," per Stewart. He did not mention this to the Daily Press during an interview Wednesday evening, about 24 hours before his AMA. Whatever he tells supporters, Stewart is friendly with reporters and has said this is strategy.

The message board ate all this up. One person particularly liked that Stewart has dubbed Gillespie "Establishment Ed."

"Linguistic kill shot just like the God Emperor himself would do!"

In this context, President Donald Trump is the "God Emperor."

Stewart's AMA hasn't generated a lot of public response so far, with the exception of Shaun Kenney, a former executive director of the Republican Party of Virginia.

"UNACCEPTABLE: The Gauleiter of Prince William Finally Pulls Off The White Hood," Kenney wrote at The Jeffersoniad.

Gauleiter's meaning?

"A political official governing a district under Nazi rule."

UPDATE: This article has been updated to include Virginia GOP Chairman John Whitbeck's statement and to better describe the term "cuckservative."
