You know you're form Williamsburg when...

• You remember the Post Office was at the corner of Francis & N. Henry streets and the A&P was on Lafayette Street.

• You have ever bowled at the duck pin alley under the old A&P building on Duke of Gloucester.

• You remember the trainer for Lassie used to bring a lion in his old Mercury station wagon to High's on Sundays.
• You bought a fresh slaughtered hen at Be-Lo.
• You knew Russo's was the place to eat. They pushed you to your seat.
• Finding the coldest beer in town meant going to Minor's.
• Everyone in town was certain Capitol Landing Road would be the major access point to town.
• Everyone swam for free at the MotorHouse pool?

• The extreme coaster at Busch Gardens was the Glissade.
• You hung out at the Blue Rose and later Club New York.

• Remember Magruder Elementary as an all-red-brick building.

I Remember when Route 60 from Richmond to Williamsburg was a pleasant scenic drive along a two lane road.

Remember when the Golden Horseshoe Club was in the Williamsburg Inn basement. It was a bottle club before liquor by the drink for locals and some Inn guests. Charles Cook was manager and Sam Roberts was a head waiter. Small bands provided music for dancing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Gas station on Capitol Landing Road which was owned by Mr. Kelly. Now is Sal's Pizza-Pottery was a great place to shop. Winter the town was empty and you could make it all the way from Toano to Wmsburg in 10 minutes there were no lights. Miss those days...
