Williamsburg is a place worth loving and a great place for raising families and to call home. But do you know how it came to be the wonderful place we call home?
It was with the wisdom and foresight that people like Gil Granger showed three decades ago. In the early 1970s Gil started fighting to put in underground wires, improve our schools, build a great library, and create a business-friendly town where even the little guy can succeed.
Gil has been a Chamber of Commerce president, president of Kiwanis, the Williamsburg Jaycees, W&M Athletic Education Foundation, Elks Exalted Ruler, March of Dimes chairman, Williamsburg Area Day Care Center director, a trustee of Williamsburg Community Hospital, and Occasion for the Arts sub-chairman. He has coached Little League and taught Sunday school.
I had no idea any one person could do so much in life. You ask how? It is because Gil has a passion for Williamsburg, and the respect of those who know him.
His experience, integrity and intellect are what people aspire to. We are fortunate that people like him have made Williamsburg a place we want to call home.
