A producer of “The Blair Witch Project” is helping create an original haunted house for Howl-O-Scream, the Halloween scare-fest at Busch Gardens theme park.
Robin Cowie — who has made six other horror films and worked with on Orlando projects for Nickelodeon, Disney Institute, Golf Channel and Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts — and team will create Unearthed: Scarlett’s Revenge for the event. Cowie will be producer/director of the house.
The maze’s story will revolve around Scarlett, a healer who turned to dark magic to avenge her husband’s killers. In the story, visitors will explore a centuries-old house as Scarlett summons demons to reincarnate her husband.
Other houses set for Howl-O-Scream include Dead Fall: Thirst for Blood; Zombie Containment Unit 15: Moving Targets; Death Water Bayou; The Basement; Circus of Superstition: The Last Laugh; and Zombie Mortuary.
Howl-O-Scream, an after-hours, extra-ticket event, runs select nights between Sept. 25 and Oct. 31. For more information, go to howloscream.com.
