Mollie Trainum' winning essay re Dream Catchers

Mollie Trainum, a local 16-year-old, combined her two passions, creative writing and horses, and placed runner-up in a national writing contest. She was recognized for her touching story "Miracle Mare," inspired by the life-changing experiences gained as a rider and volunteer at Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center. Mollie has been a rider at Dream Catchers since the facility opened on Fire Tower Road, only missing one session due to a surgery. She has Marfan syndrome, a connective tissue disorder, and due to its complications, her physical activities are significantly limited.
