Busch Gardens plans to add a new restaurant, a craft beer room and new show in the upcoming year.
The restaurant in the park's Italian section will transform from a buffet to a more relaxed dining experience, according to an announcement outlining the park’s plans for the 2016 season.
The new restaurant has not yet been named but will have a Marco Polo-based theme and will feature Italian, Mediterranean and Asian entrees, salads and desserts.
Work on the new restaurant will begin in November, according to the Busch Gardens announcement.
“We're bringing the flavors of the world to the world's most beautiful theme park,” Busch Gardens culinary vice president Franz Kitenko said. “And, we are excited to introduce a new open design that will enhance the dining experience for our guests with less wait and more options.”
Also in 2016, a new craft beer room will be added inside Das Festhaus that will open in the spring and serve 30 local and regional craft beers and a variety of snacks.
A new show to the Royal Palace Theater in the park's France section will also premier in the upcoming year. The show is based on the classic French story of “The Three Musketeers,” and it will take advantage of the night sky and new technology to bring visitors into the story, according to the Busch Gardens announcement.
“An evening performance opens up a world of possibilities for an open-air venue like the Royal Palace Theatre,” Busch Gardens entertainment director Peter Dunklee said. “Playing with light and shadow in the night air lets us immerse the audience into the storyline like never before. It's definitely something worth staying late for.”
