Go Ape has a different idea about how families should celebrate Black Friday, the traditional opening of the Christmas shopping season. The zip line and treetop adventure course company, is renaming its Black Friday #FamilyFriday to encourage families to spend time together outdoors instead of shopping. On November 27, Go Ape is opening its courses for free to kids ages 15 and under, when accompanied by an adult. "It's time we reset our values on this day," said Dan D'Agostino, Go Ape USA managing director. "We applaud REI's #OptOutside and we encourage everyone to spend the day with their loved ones and enjoy nature whether it's hiking your favorite local trail, ice skating or biking." Tickets for #FamilyFriday are available at GoApe.com. Go Ape offers twelve locations around the country, nine of which — including the Williamsburg location — will be open on Nov. 27. Booking in advance is strongly recommended.
