Freedom Park and the Williamsburg Botanical Garden are set to host the fourth annual butterfly festival.
The festival will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 5 at the Williamsburg Botanical Garden in Freedom Park in James City County, according to a Williamsburg Botanical Garden news release.
Visitors will be able to hold butterflies and learn from experts about the insects, and children will have the opportunity to create butterfly crafts, the release said.
Two tents will be filled with over 300 live butterflies, according to the release.
The event will also host a plant sale of milkweed and other plants that butterflies need during their life cycle, the release said.
The event is free to the public and is sponsored by the Williamsburg Botanical Garden and Green Spring Garden Club.
