Locals and tourists gather at Bruton Parish Church for Christmas Mass

bout 100 people filled Bruton Parish Church on Christmas morning to celebrate the holiday.

Reverend Jan Brown reminded the parishioners of the true meaning of Christmas, during the hour long service.

“Today is just the beginning,” Brown said as she told parishioners during the sermon to continue to spread good will after Christmas is over.

Local Neal Glenicki has been a parishioner since last summer.

“What the holidays mean to me is celebrating God’s love,” Glenicki said. “After all the running around, coming to church focuses me on what Christmas is really about.”

Readings during the mass included verses from Isaiah, John and Hebrews.

Bruton Parish Church is located on West Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg.
