Classroom experiences make our country great

The front-page article on Jan. 25 regarding NASA employees meeting with W-JCC middle school students is a wonderful example of a teacher's ability to offer real-life connections to provide a learning experience. Ms. Chamblee and other educators who supported her efforts should be commended for taking an opportunity to model how her students can learn from the past and develop a new way to view their life experiences. After seeing the movie "Hidden Figures" last Friday, my husband and I also felt the power of these three courageous women, and the example they set for generations to come. We need more stories showing what women and minorities have been doing for decades that make our country great!
