The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry will slightly alter its schedule on Christmas Day.
On Dec. 25, the ferry will leave Surry County every hour, and will leave Jamestown every 30 minutes, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
There are normally 43 departures daily from Surry County in the fall, winter and spring months. From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. it operates once an hour. From 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., it operates every 20 to 25 minutes, and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., it operates every half-hour.
From Jamestown, the ferry normally operates every hour from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., and from 5:20 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. it runs every 25 minutes, and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. it operates every 30 minutes.
