JAMES CITY - John Wright III, who lost a close race for the Jamestown District seat on the Board of Supervisors in 2012, was appointed to the Planning Commission on Tuesday.
Wright was among a round of placements that filled three seats and emptied one.
Wright ran against former supervisor Jim Icenhour in a special election, but lost with 48 percent of the vote. Wright will fill an at-large seat on the Planning Commission that had been held by Michael Maddocks. That term expired at the end of January.
Commissioner Rich Krapf switched seats. He has represented the Stonehouse District for years, but was redistricted into the Powhatan. He was appointed to that seat on Tuesday, replacing outgoing commissioner Al Woods.
That left the Stonehouse Planning Commission seat vacant. The supervisors agreed to keep that seat unfilled for two weeks to allow interested people a chance to apply.
In addition, commissioner Robin Bledsoe was reappointed to the Jamestown Planning Commission seat.
