Officials: Two dogs die in Grafton fire

Two dogs died in a house fire late Monday evening in the 300 block of Vine Drive in the Grafton area of York County, officials said in a news release.

The fire occurred around 11 p.m., and fire and rescue crews found the home under heavy fire conditions, according to a York County Department of Fire and Life Safety news release. The people in the home were able to get out and were treated by medics, the news release stated.

According to the release, the fire was under control shortly after fire and rescue units arrived, with the home sustaining direct fire damage as well as heat and smoke damage throughout the structure. The occupants were medically evaluated and there were no injuries, according to the release, and the cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
