A home on Jolly Pond Road sustained extensive damage during a Wednesday afternoon fire, according to James City County Fire Department officials.
First responders received a call at 2:41 p.m. about smoke and flames at the residence along the 2600 block of Jolly Pond Road. Firefighters from James City-Bruton Volunteer and New Kent responded to the call.
The homeowner escaped without injury, according to a James City County Fire news release.
A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
