Three transportation organizations will brief the Board of Supervisors on county transportation at Tuesday's work session.
"Basically, the board will ask the organizations to cover it all: where we are, what we have to look forward to as a region, and what transportation looks like in James City County and what we're trying to accomplish," Supervisor Michael Hipple said. "We're trying to get different presentations from different groups so the board has a more well rounded vision of what's happening in the region."
Hipple was named chairman of the Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission on June 15.
The commission is comprised of elected officials throughout the region. It determines how roughly $200 million annually will be invested in transportation projects.
As chairman, Hipple is responsible for running the meetings, signing the checks, serving as a liaison for the board and working with the governor and VDOT.
Representatives from the Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission, Hampton Roads Planning District Commission and the Virginia Department of Transportation will be on hand.
Jefferson can be reached by phone at 757-790-9313.
