A friend and I took advantage of a cold day to explore the Music Museum on Richmond Road.  It is fantastic.  It took two hours to look through it and it had a great section on Virginia musicians.   For a fun afternoon, treat yourself to an incredible gem in our area.  Call ahead for tours.

Realtor team, Jim Mellen and Michelle Bell with ReMax Peninsula at New Town are nothing short of amazing!  We recently relocated to Connecticut from Williamsburg and as a result we had to sell our first home.  Their professionalism, attention to detail, and responsiveness was impeccable.  Jim helped us purchase this home when we first moved to Williamsburg six years ago and it was not even a second thought that we wanted to work with him again when it came time to sell it.  Time and again Jim and Michelle demonstrated their knowledge and trustworthiness as they guided us through the entire process of selling our home after we relocated.  They put their clients first and that speaks volumes.  Thank you, Jim and Michelle, for your expertise and being such wonderful and thoughtful professionals!

I am a widow and Tricia Van Bourgondien helped me transform my husband's man cave into a beautiful new office for me.  She is on time, works hard and her prices are reasonable.  I still have her helping me organize the other parts of my home.  Organizing your home is a wonderful winter project. You can reach her at

U.S. Post Office vs. UPS Christmas delivery. On 12/18 I went to the UPS Store at Quarterpath Road to send a package to Dallas. They said UPS would get it there on 12/28 - 10 days. Upon asking about the USPS they said it would be 12/22 or 23. The box was delivered on 12/21- 3 days to Dallas. Exceptional service by the USPS.

Which school in Williamsburg should parents be concerned about? If four families have had to contact council vs. administrators, can we at least know what school? Or at least whether it's an elementary, middle or high school? Inquiring WJCC parent!

Handicapped parking

I often see people complaining in the “Last Word” about people parking in handicapped parking spaces and I have to wonder why they feel the need for our police to address this continuously. I am fairly certain there are more serious matters for the police to address. If they are displaying a handicapped sticker and your life is so empty that you feel you must be concerned, then why not approach these individuals and ask how you may help them. Handicaps are not always visible. Fortunately, I do not need a sticker or license plate and if you have one and are having difficulty finding a place to park, perhaps you can ask the business to provide more. I have always found there are empty ones available. And if someone is there who really isn’t handicapped, well if you address them perhaps their shame will stop them from doing this again.

Photos found

If you have a family member who graduated in 2007 from the Naval Academy and are missing some photos from that graduation, we have found a Ritz disk with those photos on it. If you believe the photos may be yours, and you can describe some of the individuals in the pictures over the phone, please call 220-8583. Thank you.
