Last Word on a pharmacist, Nov. 21

More commenters weigh in on the president-elect and his choices for top advisers.

Bad news

How sad to learn that after cutting operating hours drastically this just up and closed. Deborah the pharmacist has been the best ever and treated folks like family. She will now have to travel to another Kmart location. Other Williamsburg stores would be wise to bring her back to this area.

Sanctuary cities

The mayors that plan on continuing to have their cities be a sanctuary for illegal immigrants should themselves be considered criminals, as they are breaking federal law. Since we will soon have a new president and attorney general, the letter of the law will once again be implemented.

Post election

At this rate, the Clown Car which is the Trump transition team will move into a White House populated by the Secret Service, the cook, and the maid.

To all those stating that Trump will not be their president: Remember with the current administration we have an “open door” immigration policy with the doors swinging both ways. Don’t let them hit you on your way out of our country.

In response to person who will never support "this man" and he will never be my president!  Pretty broad, hateful brush you're using.  The racist, homophobic and sexist Trump Administration?  We still don't know  who that will be; he is still in the process of choosing his administration. I guess the millions who voted for him are not decent people because our views differ from yours. I hope you stick to your convictions and continue to pay higher taxes, higher health care costs after he lowers them.  I could go on and on but, as Forrest Gump said, "You can't fix stupid."

It’s really simple. The media do not understand President-elect Trump because their whole world revolves around words. And to them, “words” are the most important factor in potential leaders. Why? Because the correct words indicate good intentions, and good intentions are the only thing that matters to them. To President-elect Trump, words are secondary. His mantra is “actions speak louder than words.”  He is a man of action, not words, something the media cannot understand and have grown unaccustomed  to.

I could not be happier. My husband and I are thrilled to death that Jeff Sessions will be the attorney general. That man is as good as gold. He’s honorable, he’s just, he’s fair, he’s smart. He is my kind of man. He is a wonderful man. This why I was for Trump from the very beginning. I knew he would pick Jeff Sessions. I said to my husband months ago, “You know, Sessions would be great for attorney general. In fact, I called his office and said, “You know who would be a great attorney general? You would be.  Because of your intelligence and wisdom like Solomon and goodness.” That man is good to his core. I’m thrilled to death.

I would just like to know why President-elect Trump’s political election was not published in The Virginia Gazette. I understand, surely, that it was probably because of the lateness of the hour—3 a.m. on Wednesday morning—it was not put in the Wednesday Gazette, but why was it not put in Saturday’s edition? There was no mention of President-elect Trump winning the election, and why is that? I just feel like news reports are tainted by politics nowadays and we’ve lost journalistic creditability. There should have been something in our Gazette to say, “Hey, President-elect Trump won—by a landslide, even! I mean, you don’t have to put that, but he won! With all the riots and everything, we need something positive, because this man is going to help America. Thank you.
