William and Mary students have put together an event to show their displeasure with one of President Donald Trump's most recent executive orders.
Trump's order, called "Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States," placed a 90-day ban on people entering the United States from seven countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.
Suzanne Seurattan, the director of news & media for the college, said one student cannot re-enter the country for the time being because of the immigration ban. She declined providing further information to avoid identifying that student without their permission.
Organizers are asking that anyone interested in participating in the Thursday evening event should come to the Sunken Garden, where students and others will gather at 8 p.m. Sharon Powell, an immigration lawyer based in Williamsburg, will be one of several speakers.
