The county planning commission is scheduled to hear a request to build a 7-Eleven and add a neighboring fast food restaurant along Pocahontas Trail at its Sept. 6 meeting.
Both requests come from Mark Richardson, representing the Timmons Group. A public hearing is also scheduled on the projects.
“They’re planning the site to take advantage of access and shared parking, but its two separate users,” said Paul Holt, county community development director. “7-Eleven will do their thing and the property owner will find a fast food chain.”
Holt said a fast food chain has not yet been identified. The chain would sit next to the Aura at Quartpath apartments and behind Riverside Doctors’ Hospital.
If approved, the 7-Eleven will be 2,940 square feet and the fast food restaurant will be 4,000 square feet and will include a drive-thru.
