Celebrate fall, beer at Busch Gardens

To toast the end of summer, Busch Gardens will host its Bier Fest in September.

The three-weekend festival will feature more than 100 beers including everything from traditional Oktoberfest drafts to tropical IPAs.

The festival will take place on Sept. 1-4, 9-10, and 16-17. On each of those weekends, Busch Gardens will feature local breweries. The first weekend showcases Alewerks Brewing Company from Williamsburg and O'Connor Brewing Company from Norfolk. The second weekend will feature Virginia Beer Company from Williamsburg and Wasserhund Brewing Company from Virginia Beach. The final weekend will include Tradition Brewing from Newport News and The Oozlefinch Craft Brewery from Hampton.

The bands Happy Dutchman, the Kevin MaC Band and Harley Boone will provide musical entertainment.

Beer without brats? Busch Gardens will also expend its menu dusring the festival with knockwurst pigtails, bratwurst & sauerkraut fried dumplings.
