Heavy rain could result in localized flooding

The National Weather Service put the Historic Triangle under a hazardous weather outlook until Tuesday night.

The area can expect moderate to heavy rain and gusts of wind up to 40 miles-per-hour through the late afternoon, according to the weather service.

The worst of Tuesday’s rain passed through Williamsburg by 10:30 a.m., but localized flooding could still be an issue, said Dan Proch, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wakefield.

"There will be possible localized flooding in fields and ditches" and low lying roadways, Proch said.
