Police: Arrest made in shooting death of teenager

Saturday, 11:30 a.m. update:

A man was arrested on Saturday morning in connection to the shooting death of an 18-year-old from Portsmouth, police say.

Police believe Julian Rios, 20, of Portsmouth, shot Austin G. Baxley multiple times. Baxley's body was found on the side of Crawford Road near the tour road overpass around midnight on Friday, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office news release.

Rios was arrested in Chesapeake on and charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, the release states.

Friday, 3:30 p.m. update:

A man was found shot to death on the side of Crawford Road Friday morning, police say.

Police believe Austin G. Baxley, 18, of Portsmouth, died of multiple gunshot wounds. His body was found near the tour road overpass around midnight, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office news release.

York deputies are investigating a homicide after a passerby found the body of an unidentified man on the side of Crawford Road Friday morning.

The man's body was found near the tour road overpass around midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office news release.

The cause of death is undetermined, the release states.
