Graffiti, swastika found in W&M dorm bathroom

An official at the College of William and Mary addressed students on Tuesday after graffiti was reported in a residence hall bathroom.

Ginger Ambler, vice president for student affairs, wrote in an address to the student body after an image of a paper towel dispenser circulated on social media.

The photo, posted on a W&M student Facebook group, shows the words "Go Trump," with a swastika substituting for the "T."

Ambler said that since last week's presidential election, students have reported other threats and harassment.

"What can never belong here at W&M are any behaviors that harass, intimidate, or threaten others," Amber wrote. "It grieves me to know that students in our community are witnessing or directly experiencing such behaviors, as well as the accompanying pain, confusion, and fear they engender."

Ambler encouraged students to use the university's reporting website. Anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to contact William & Mary Police at 757-221-4596.
