Storm-related closings and cancellations in Hampton Roads, eastern Virginia

Here's a list of weather-related closings and cancellations:

York County

Update: Power was restored to historic Yorktown just before 3 p.m.  Offices will resume normal operations tomorrow morning at 8:15 a.m. 

Previously: York County offices in the county's historic area are currently closed due to power outages. The office phones are not working, and the offices will remain closed until power is restored.

Regional

Hampton Roads Transit services will remain suspended until at least noon Sunday.

All Tidewater Community College campuses are closed on Monday.

Hampton

The Junior League of Hampton Roads Craft Beer Festival has been postponed from Saturday to Oct. 30 at Peninsula Town Center.

The Heritage-Phoebus football game scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Darling Stadium has been postponed to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4.

The Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe is closed Sunday due to power outages and Monday due to Columbus day. 

Isle of Wight

Isle of Wight County schools and offices will be closed Monday because of dangerous road conditions, according to school spokeswoman Lynn Briggs.

The Smithfield Police Department has advised drivers to avoid Battery Park Road, specifically in the area of 18400 Battery Park Road, near Smithfield Christian Church. Police warned of high water.

Newport News

Update 9 p.m.: The electricity has been restored at Sedgefield Elementary School, and it will be open Monday, according to a news release by Newport News Public Schools.

Newport News school officials announced Sunday that Gatewood PEEP, the preschool program, and Sedgefield Elementary School will be closed Monday, but all other schools in the district will open as scheduled.

The Mayor’s Initiative to End Bullying in Newport News 4th Annual P.A.B 1000 Youth March scheduled for Sunday has been postponed. It will be held Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2-5 pm. at Todd Stadium, 12465 Warwick Blvd.

The Harvest Faire (a local Renaissance faire) at Endview Plantation in Newport News has canceled its Sunday activities. 

The Newport News Golf Club at Deer Run is closed Sunday.

The Mariners' Museum and Park is closed Sunday.

The Port Warwick Art & Sculpture Festival has been canceled for Sunday.

Suffolk

The 39th annual Suffolk Peanut Fest has been canceled. Organizers said some activities may be rescheduled.

The Festival of Flight that was scheduled for Saturday at Suffolk Executive Airport during the Peanut Festival is canceled.

Mathews

Belmont Pumpkin Farm is closed Sunday.

Surry/Williamsburg

The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry has suspended service until 7:30 a.m. Sunday, due to high tide, VDOT announced.
