Nov. 7 is an important day for the Williamsburg-James City County School Division. On this day, the Jamestown District School Board seat will be on the ballot. I am writing to encourage those in the Jamestown District to vote to keep Jim Kelly on our School Board.
If you’re not familiar with Mr. Kelly, he has been a member of our community for more than 25 years. His wife, Kelly, has taught in our school division for 26 years and has accrued many accolades, including Teacher of the Year in 2008. Mr. Kelly’s three children have had successful tenures in the W-JCC schools, both academically and athletically.
Why is this important?
It means that he knows our school division, its strengths and weaknesses, from many angles. As a community member, a parent and a spouse, Mr. Kelly has the unique perspective of understanding the potential impact of his decisions and how each decision might affect all stakeholders.
Mr. Kelly has served our community on the School Board since 2010. He is genuine, transparent, knowledgeable, intelligent and readily accessible. He has proven his ability to use our school division’s limited funds to maximize the benefit for our children.
Most importantly, I trust him to make decisions that will be in the best interest of our children, families and community.
Please vote for the future of W-JCC schools and our children. Vote for Jim Kelly on Nov. 7.
