Remember "Ravens Nation," the song written and performed by a group of Baltimore superfans? Well, it's back, with a few new twists.
Matt Richey, Kenny Silkworth and Robert "McFreshington" Norton wrote the song last year in a frenzy of Ravens love after their team clinched the AFC North title.
The rap was an instant sensation, drawing thousands of hits in its first hours online, radio time on local stations and front-page notice in The Baltimore Sun. The guys performed it at Purple Friday events, too.
"Smash mouth is the game, in the town that we claim, home crowd taking aim," it went. "Baltimore's so relentless."
McFreshington tells Insider that his "Ravens Nation 2013" includes some new lyrics and a revamped video with inspiring clips from this season.
"We really built the lyrics of the first two verses and the video around the peaks and valleys that were the Ravens 2012 season," he said. "We were adamant about including guys in the lyrics that are brand new Ravens heroes like Paul Kruger and Jacoby Jones."
And Ravens fans are ready to hear it again. During the game against the Broncos, he says the video was viewed 5,000 times in four hours.
