W&M recruit Giles leads Nansemond-Suffolk past HRA 38-8

Noah Giles, who has committed to William and Mary according to multiple reports, rushed for two touchdowns to help lead the host Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints past Hampton Roads Academy 38-8 Friday night.

Giles, who had three carries for 74 yards, had touchdown runs of 48 and 17 yards. NSA finished with 274 yards on the ground.

NSA clinched the No. 2 seed in the Virginia Independent Schools Division III playoffs.

The Saints will play host to No. 3 North Cross of Roanoke in a semifinal.

FRANKLIN 26, SOUTHAMPTON 6

Darian Duck scored two touchdowns on offense and had five tackles on defense to help lead Franklin over its nearby rival.

Duck scored on a 9-yard run and a 3-yard fumble recovery for the Broncos (8-2, 5-2 Tri-Rivers), who are in the 1A East playoffs.

The Indians fell to 3-7, 2-5 and will miss the playoffs.

Jaylen Bullock and Hugie Chavis each scored two touchdowns to lead Park View to a rout of Windsor in South Hill.

Chavis scored on runs of 29 and 2 and Bullock scored on runs of 8 and 63 as the Dragons (8-2, 5-2 Tri-Rivers) compiled 383 yards rushing in the game. They next will compete in the 3A East playoffs.

The Dukes (2-8, 1-6) will miss the postseason.

Antae Motton ran for 75 yards and three touchdowns and Trevon Hatch added 72 rushing yards and a score for the visiting Tigers in Dendron.

Motton scored on runs of 7, 1 and 15 yards for Sussex Central (8-2, 6-1 Tri-Rivers), which improved its chances of getting a Group 1A East first-round bye and hosting a quarterfinal in two weeks.

Andre Savage scored on runs of 56 and 2 yards in the fourth quarter for the Cougars (2-8, 0-7) in their finale.
