Jamestown senior Jordan Willis will continue his track and field career at the University of Virginia.
Willis will attend U.Va. on an academic scholarship and will get a good look at his future Lannigan Field home this weekend when he competes in the Dogwood Track Classic, entering as the top seed in the 400 meters.
Willis, who also named William and Mary as one of his final two college choices, was second in the long jump (21 feet, 11 inches) in the Group 4A indoor championships at Roanoke College to go along with a seventh-place finish in the 300 meters (36.31) and contributing to the 4x200 relay team that took third in 1:32.37.
Willis won the long jump Wednesday in the third Bay Rivers District regular season meet at New Kent and will join Jamestown teammate Jordan Turner on the collegiate level next season. Turner recently signed to run at George Mason.
