Community briefs: Legacy set to host national soccer tourney

The Virginia Legacy soccer club is hosting the seventh Presidents Day Cup showcase tournament at Warhill Sports Complex on Saturday and Sunday, welcoming more than 140 teams from eight states other than Virginia.

A Legacy press release states that as many as 40 college coaches will be attending the event, which is open to both travel boys and girls teams.

WYBL baseball registration

The Williamsburg Youth Baseball League spring season registration is open through Sunday.

The WYBL offers leagues in T-ball (ages 5-6); machine pitch minors (ages 7- 8); machine pitch majors (age 8); minor leagues (ages 9-10, 11-12; major leagues (ages 9 -10, 11-12); junior league for ages 13-16 (16s only for those not playing high school baseball).

Sports physicals at Lafayette

Lafayette High School will be giving sports physicals Feb. 18 starting at 5:30 p.m.

Cost is $20 and checks should be made out to LABC.

Athletes and parents can get the VHSL physical form by going to the Lafayette website. Click on “Athletics” and on the left column, click on “VHSL Physical Form.”
