Jamestown runners secure spots in 4A state indoor track championships

Jamestown is sending six individuals as well as two relay teams to the Group 4A state indoor track and field championships on Friday and Saturday in Lynchburg.

Kathleen Yates recorded the highest finish for Jamestown Monday in the South region meet in Hampton, taking fourth in the 1600 meters.

Along with Yates, Jamestown's Matthew Crowder (shot put), the boys 4x200 relay team, Jordan Willis, Jordan Gravelle, and Gaphne Glueck finished in automatic qualifying spots Monday.

Jamestown's Paul Keurajian already had a state qualifying time in the 1000 as did the girls 4x800 relay team of Glueck, Gravelle, Yates and Maddie Clevinger.
